Legendary label International DJ Gigolo is back with another fantastic quality mix... American Gigolo II is selected and skillfully mixed by the infamous Abe Duque.  Off course those who know Mr Duque will have guessed that this means that raw crispy acid is present on this release. He was allowed to dive into the complete backcatalog of the label and he dug up some real treasures that some of us will remeber and that will be fresh and new to others.  As versatile an artist Abe himself has proven to be, as diverse is his selection.

The CD kicks off with the ultra-hypnotic track "Moonraker" by "The Foremost Poets" which leads to Abe Duque's very own "What You gonna Do ?" after a short intermission.  A track best described as 'mechanical industrialized noisy techno trance with rock attitude.  It is a typical return to early Chicago beats and modern post-punk inspired electro-noise.  Simply put : a timeless classic !  Then he brings on the contemporary knights of 80's inspired electro-funk in a modern sauce by "Tiefschwarz".  But off course Abe then just has to release the acid to the foreground and hence he spins "Elbee Bad". A mixture of "Work That Mutherfucka" and classic acid such as early +8 hits the speakers.  Then Psychonauts incredibly great housy dubby techno-wave track "Worlds kee turning" take you even further into trance.  Hypnosis takes control of the dancefloor way past midnight and Abe Duque becomes the shepperd of dancers as his dad used to be the shepperd of souls (he was an evangelical minister).  The church of beats and acid bass wins followers and believers by the minute...

The intensity increases and Abe Duque now leads his disciples over oceans of swelling techno, electro fuzzy bleeps and heavy acidas he spins his very own strong remix of Hell's "I am Amanda Le Pore".  Then the set really explodes and acid and Chicago take over and lead to the club anthem "Jack U" by "P. Diddy".  Then techno really takes over and we get David Caretta (in an Anne Clarke mood) and Terence Fixmer even before he throws in that all-time disco-techno clasic by Jef Mills : "Move Your Body".  Pure nostalgy for those who clubbed over a decade ago...  He then brings home safely his listeners as he slowly decreases the intensity and gravity of the music to end with bleepy ambient ("T. Fixmer's "The Rebirth") and to end with a very 80's like slow paced parody - just by the referenced title - of "Tarzan Boy"

If you haven(t experienced Abe Duque as a DJ then this is your chance.  Not only you get a great summary of what Abe stands for, you also get to know what International DJ Gigolo are about an what a contemporary evening of clubing means...  Isn't that a complete package ?
