We sometimes get demos and off course they go through the review routine just as well...  One day I found this demo from NazB in my mailbox.  This rapper from Zûrich (I agree, this is not where you expect to get a rap CD from somehow) but has international roots and has lived in Africa.  His real name is Michael Ikenna Ozigboand he was born in Nigeria.  He has travelled the world and has lived many vivid and rich experiences.  He has been forced to support himself at times through petty crime even.  His love for hip hop however kept him going and performing worldwide in venues and clubs.  He has self-released his first CD meanwhile (check www.cdbaby.com).

His rap is always in between so many known artists...  He is never really Ice-T (though he does not avoid more violent themes and wordings); he is never 2Pac (though he has a smooth flow full of semi-contained tension).  He is not Busta Rhymes, not Snoop, not Dr. Dre, not anyone we know... But he has listened to all of them and they have influenced him while he developed his own style, timbre, flow and stories.  He is a real hip hop artist : telling tales from the heart and soul of a guy living in the streets, in poverty, in a world full of racial hate and religious , social challenges, inequality...

NazB is an artist in full development.  He's got his beats worked out pretty well, his melodies take you from electro to R&B, ragga and soul.  He still needs to polish loads of edges, but he is a promising young artist full of potential in desperate need of a bigger budget, a better production studio, a more experienced sound engineer, a professional producer...  So if he is lucky enough to find his way through the maze of the music business then this guy has what it takes to potentially go far.  Our favourite : "Black & White".
